Summary

On March 2, 2020, The Program on Extremism at The George Washington University, in conjunction with GW Libraries & Academic Innovation and the National Churchill Library and Leadership Center hosted Dr. Aaron Zelin to discuss his new book, Your Sons Are At Your Service: Tunisia's Missionaries of Jihad

Dr. Zelin's book examines the history of Tunisians' involvement in the jihadi movement and offers an in-depth examination of the reasons why so many Tunisians became drawn to jihadism following the 2011 revolution. It highlights the longer-term causes that affected jihadi recruitment in Tunisia, including the prior history of Tunisians joining jihadi organizations and playing key roles in far-flung parts of the world over the past four decades. A moderated discussion followed Dr. Zelin's remarks, hosted by Devorah Margolin, a Senior Research Fellow at the Program on Extremism.
