The FBI's Capture of a Kata'ib Hizballah Commander
Inside the Al-Saadi Case
Tuesday, May 19, 2026
10:00 am - 11:00 am
This session will examine the FBI's May 15 indictment of senior Kata'ib Hizballah commander Mohammad Baqer Al-Saadi — captured in Turkey, transferred to U.S. custody, and charged in the Southern District of New York — and what the case reveals about the evolution of Iran's proxy doctrine, Washington's shift toward capture-and-prosecute, and the operational signal the operation sends to the rest of the KH leadership. It will feature Dr. Omar Mohammed, Senior Research Fellow at the Program on Extremism, and will be moderated by Jay Solomon, investigative journalist and Middle East specialist.
