The FBI's Capture of a Kata'ib Hizballah Commander: Inside the Al-Saadi Case

This session examined the FBI's May 15 indictment of senior Kata'ib Hizballah commander Mohammad Baqer Al-Saadi — captured in Turkey, transferred to U.S. custody, and charged in the Southern District of New York — and what the case reveals about the evolution of Iran's proxy doctrine, Washington's shift toward capture-and-prosecute, and the operational signal the operation sends to the rest of the KH leadership. It featured Dr. Omar Mohammed, Senior Research Fellow at the Program on Extremism, and was moderated by Jay Solomon, investigative journalist and Middle East specialist.
