Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) research, including data collection, verification, and analytical reporting.
- Previous experience studying domestic Islamism, extremist networks, influence operations, or related ideological movements.
- Familiarity with organizations and ecosystems connected to Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) and other associated movements within the U.S. context.
- Proficiency in digital investigative tools (e.g., social media analytics, link-analysis tools, digital archiving platforms, geolocation tools).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex research findings into clear, compelling reports.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and adhere to strict research ethics and documentation standards.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MA/MS/PhD) in political science, security studies, Middle East studies, international relations, or related field preferred.
Primary Responsibilities
OSINT Research & Analysis
- Conduct advanced OSINT investigations into domestic Islamist networks, their ideological influences, funding pathways, media strategies, and organizational relationships.
- Monitor and analyze publicly available information, including social media platforms, official statements, court filings, nonprofit disclosures, public records, and news reporting.
- Develop profiles, network maps, and analytical briefs on individuals, organizations, and events relevant to Hamas, MB, CAIR, and related ecosystems.
- Track evolving trends in domestic Islamist activity, policy engagement, and public-facing narratives.
Publications & Reporting
- Draft research memos, long-form reports, policy briefs, and rapid-response analyses.
- Collaborate with senior researchers to produce white papers, investigative series, and briefing documents for policymakers, journalists, and external partners.
- Maintain internal research logs and databases to ensure documentation integrity and reproducibility.
Digital & Social Media Contribution
- Provide research support for content shared on organizational social channels, including analysis threads, publication announcements, and context for breaking news.
- Verify information and assist in producing accurate, timely OSINT-grounded commentary for broader audiences.
