Zhor Rehihil: A Muslim Curator’s Journey in Preserving Jewish Heritage

Across the Arabic-speaking world, a growing number of individuals are working to preserve and celebrate the rich, diverse history of Jewish life in the region. Among them is Zhor Rehihil, Curator of the Moroccan Jewish Museum - the only institution of its kind in the Arab world - who has spent over two decades curating and protecting Morocco’s Jewish heritage.
In this special conversation, she joins Omar Mohammed, Director of the Program on Extremism's Antisemitism Research Initiative, who has documented the Jewish memory of Mosul, for a powerful exchange on shared memory, cultural stewardship, and interfaith understanding. Together, they reflect on how local initiatives can revive forgotten histories, promote coexistence, and counter hatred and erasure.
This event will be held in Arabic.
